Local Network CheckThe Sender Policy Framework (SPF) allows software to identify and reject forged addresses in the SMTP MAIL FROM (Return-Path), a typical nuisance in e-mail spam. SPF is defined in Experimental RFC 4408SPF allows the owner of an Internet domain to use special format of DNS TXT records to specify which machines are authorized to transmit e-mail for that domain. For example, the owner of the example.org domain can designate which machines are authorized to send e-mail whose e-mail address in the Return-Path ends with "@example.org". Receivers checking SPF can then treat differently (e.g. mark or reject) any e-mail that claims to come from that domain, but fails in a check against the IPs listed in the sender policy of this domain. Please note only a Fail will not be delivered. A pass, neutral or none result will be accepted by SPF. SPF is the core technology underlying Sender ID.
Local Network CheckDomainKeys is an e-mail authentication system designed to verify the DNS domain of an e-mail sender and the message integrity. The DomainKeys specification has adopted aspects of Identified Internet Mail to create an enhanced protocol called DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM).Since 2004, Yahoo has signed all of its outgoing e-mail with DomainKeys and is verifying all incoming mail. As of 2005, Yahoo reports that the number of DomainKeys-verified e-mail messages they receive exceeds 300 million per day. We strongly recommend that you use this authentication technology.
WPBLLocal Network CheckWeighted Private Block ListWPBL is a private block list consisting of IP addresses which are connected to members' systems and and unsolicited mail senders.
DNSWLLocal Network CheckDNS Whitelist - Third party domain whitelisting.DNSWL.org provides a Whitelist of known legitimate email servers to reduce the chances of false positives while spam filtering. DNSWL is checked by the current version of Spam Assassin. Note that even a low trust rating will help you with Spam Assassin. You can request a modification on your listing here http://www.dnswl.org/request.pl
Local Network CheckThe Sender Score whitelist contains a list of exemplary email senders who have agreed to submit themselves to a rigorous inspection of their sending practices.A small but growing accreditation service. This is a pay to play service that certainly provides some advantages with image rendering with Hotmail. More information is available here http://www.senderscorecertified.com/. If you are serious about delivery this is a great service to consider.
Local Network CheckRBL from spambag.orgA popular personal collection of problematic IP addresses.
Five-ten-SGLocal Network CheckRBL from Five-ten-SGRBL check with multiple testing techniques. Often blocks whole IP ranges causing high false positive rates.
Local Network CheckRBL from MailPoliceMailPoliceTM maintains a domain-based list of domains which have been used to send spam. There are currently several domain-based lists: one which lists bulk mail senders and unsolicited advertisers; pornographic e-mailers and websites; reverse DNS hostnames of dynamic Internet connections; websites and IP's hosting fraudulant or phishing content; legitimate e-mail marketers and opt-in advertisers; and domains used by webmail providers.
Local Network CheckPopular Local Network Apllication and Consumer Server application.Part of Norton Internet Security 2006
Local Network CheckComposite Blocking ListThe CBL takes its source data from very large spamtraps/mail infrastructures, and only lists IPs exhibiting characteristics which are specific to open proxies of various sorts (HTTP, socks, AnalogX, wingate etc) which have been abused to send spam, worms/viruses that do their own direct mail transmission, or some types of trojan-horse or "stealth" spamware, without doing open proxy tests of any kind.
SURBLLocal Network CheckSpam URI Realtime BlocklistsSURBLs differ from most other RBLs in that they are used to detect spam based on message body URIs (usually web sites). Unlike most other RBLs, SURBLs are not used to identify spam senders. Instead they allow you to identify messages that have spam hosts which are mentioned in message bodies.
Local Network CheckSpam and Open Relay Blocking System. Note that this test runs all the main SORBS checks including but not limited to their Dynamic IP check, open proxy and open relay tests and known zombie IP's.The list consisted of 78,000 proxy relays and has grown to over 3,000,000 compromised spam relays. (Source: SORBS.NET as of February 8, 2006)SORBS has been criticized due to their blacklisting of free email services such as Gmail, Yahoo!, and Hotmail, as well as mail servers at major paid service providers, such as SBC/AT&T in the U.S. This is a consequence of SORBS' spam database listing policy: any IP address that sends spam to the SORBS spamtrap addresses gets listed. Because spammers use viruses, malware and rootkit techniques to make unknowing users' computers send spam, the SORBS database will list unknowing users' mail servers. Wide networks of computers sharing the same IP address using network address translation may also suffer, because if one mail server on the network gets infected by a virus, the whole NAT'd network (even thousands of computers, though usually limited to a small office or home) will be blacklisted.
Local Network CheckSpam Prevention Early Warning SystemSPEWS is a list of areas on the Internet which several system administrators, ISP postmasters, and other service providers have assembled and use to deny email and in some cases, all network traffic from.
Local Network CheckVipul's Razor is a distributed, collaborative, spam detection and filtering network. Through user contribution, Razor establishes a distributed and constantly updating catalogue of spam in propagation that is consulted by email clients to filter out known spam. Detection is done with statistical and randomized signatures that efficiently spot mutating spam content.Razor DOES NOT whitelist email addresses or host names. To pass modify your email template and change your email copy, creative and URL's. If this is unsuccessful consider your mail server settings and look at alternative IP's for deployment.
PyzorLocal Network CheckPyzor is a collaborative, networked system to detect and block spam using identifying digests of messages. It is a variant of Vipul's razorAs with RAZOR no whitelists are used. To pass consider email template modification and testing alternative IP addresses.
DccLocal Network CheckThe DCC or Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse is a system of thousands of clients and more than 250 servers collecting and counting checksums related to more than 150 million mail messages on week days. The idea of the DCC is that if mail recipients could compare the mail they receive, they could recognize unsolicited bulk mail.Checksum-based filters take advantage of the fact that spam is mostly identical. To pass check-sum filters modify your email template, modify your headers, if your tests still fail consider using an alternative IP address.
Local Network CheckThe Spamhaus Block List (SBL) is a realtime database of IP addresses of spam-sources, including known spammers, spam gangs, spam operations and spam support services. The database is kept updated around the clock by Spamhaus Project workers around the world.Spamhaus is responsible for three widely-used anti-spam DNSBLs — the Spamhaus Block List (SBL), the Exploits Block List (XBL), and the Policy Block List (PBL). Many internet service providers and other Internet sites use these free services to reduce the amount of spam they take on. The SBL, XBL and PBL collectively protect over 500 million e-mail users, according to Spamhaus' web page (December 2006). Like most DNSBLs, their use is controversial. Delivery audit runs your campaign through all SpamHaus tests.
Local Network CheckThe SpamCop Blocking List (SCBL) lists IP addresses which have transmitted reported email to SpamCop users. SpamCop, service providers and individual users then use the SCBL to block and filter unwanted email. The SCBL is a fast and automatic list of sites sending reported mail, fueled by a number of sources, including automated reports and SpamCop user submissions. One of the most ruthless blackholes out there.
Trend Micro Reputation ServiceLocal Network CheckFormerly known as MAPS RSS (Relay Spam Stopper), this is now the Trend Micro Reputation Service. This is an extensive list of IP addresses of known insecure ("open relay") mail servers. TMRS is carefully maintained and only contains IP addresses that are known to have relayed spam via an open relay. All listings are investigated and confirmed to be an insecure server. When an IP address is added to this list, effort is made to contact the owner of the server and alert them that they have an open relay that is being abused, allowing them to correct the problem.TMRS maintains a number of black hole lists. We subscribe to them all.
MSRBLLocal Network CheckRealtime Black List provided by CamelNetworkRBL provided by CamelNetwork that runs all their RBL checks.
Abusive Hosts Blocking ListLocal Network CheckDial-up User List is a database for the dial-up users IP addresses. Addresses are provided by ISPs. The purpose of maintaining such a database is to provide technical possibility to recognize e-mail sent directly by dial-up users (thus by-passing ISPs mail server). The AHBL is operated by a division of the Summit Open Source Development Group (SOSDG), a developer of open source technologies. Based on data pulled from various sources on the Internet, plus their own custom tracking tools and databases, the AHBL provides a highly useful database of known problematic machines on the Internet.
Local Network CheckA popular black list.McFadden Associates professionally manages a number of high-volume Internet mail servers. These servers run software packages including MailScanner and SpamAssassin to scan all mail passing through these servers. Based on a number of algorithms, a "score" is assigned to each e-mail. Whenever a "high sscoring" SPAM is received--mail that is junk beyond reasonable doubt--it is filtered and its details recorded in this database.
DeadBeefLocal Network CheckA quirky black list with a cult following.Follow the guidelines at http://abuse.net/ to before requesting removal from this one.
Local Network CheckThe Distributed Sender Blackhole List is a DNSBL that lists IP addresses of insecure e-mail hosts. DSBL can be used by server administrators to tag or block e-mail messages that come from insecure servers, which is often spam. The DSBL lists contain the IP addresses of servers which have relayed special test messages to listme@listme.dsbl.org; this can happen if the server is an open relay, an open proxy or has another vulnerability that allows anybody to deliver email to anywhere, through that server. Note that DSBL itself doesn't do any tests; it simply listens for incoming test messages and lists the server that delivers the message to DSBL's mail server.
RDULLocal Network CheckRDUL is the Russian Dial-up User ListDial-up User List is a database for the dial-up users IP addresses. Addresses are provided by ISPs
Local Network CheckPopular Spanish Black List.Community generated black list.
KemptLocal Network CheckKempt.net DNS Black List (DNSBL)The goal of the Kempt.net black list is to catch and react to new hosts used for spamming purposes as quickly as possible. They leave long-known open relays and established spam sources to be listed by other DNSBLs.
Local Network CheckLashBack’s Unsubscribe BlacklistAllows organizations to identify and block the very worst unsubscribe abusers; those that send email to addresses which have been harvested from suppression lists.
PassiveSpamBLLocal Network CheckPassive Spam Block ListThis results in a simple listing policy: an IP address gets added to the PSBL when it sends email to a spamtrap, that email is not identified as non-spam and the IP address is not a known mail server.
SKoreaNetworkBLLocal Network CheckDNSBL that checks mail form Korean networks. The database lists most IP address ranges assigned to Korea by APNIC, plus any older ARIN ranges with a history of sending spam. The list includes networks, not individual computers.
UCEProtectLocal Network CheckThe UCEPROTECT®-Network ProjectUCEPROTECT-Network´s core database is fed by a cluster of more than 50 UCEPROTECT-Servers (Executive-Members) located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland ,Canada and Australia.
VirBLLocal Network CheckVIRBL is a project to make it harder for viruses to spread and get the load down on virusscanners by blocking e-mail from IP addresses that are known to spread viruses. After receiving at least two infected e-mails from a host within 24 hours, the IP address (NOT the e-mail address) gets listed. Hosts will be automatically delisted if he have not seen any viruses coming from that host in 24 hours.
NJABLLocal Network CheckNJABL.ORG is Not Just Another Bogus List.NJABL.ORG maintains a list of known and potential spam sources (open relays, open proxies, open form to mail HTTP gateways, dynamic IP pools, and direct spammers) for the purpose of being able to tag or refuse email and prevent at least some spam.
Local Network CheckPopular DNSBL.Domain agnostic will block popular IP's.
Mail ServerLeading Desktop and Server Mail SolutionExchange spam filters evaluate messages and determine how likely it is that a given message is spam. A number between 0 and 9 is assigned; this number is the spam confidence level (SCL). Essentially, the SCL is a normalized value assigned to a message that indicates, based on the characteristics of a message (such as the content, message header, and so on), the likelihood that the message is spam. A rating of 0 indicates that the message is highly unlikely to be spam, while a rating of 9 indicates that the message is very likely spam.
Mail ServerSpamAssassin is a mature, widely-deployed open source project that serves as a mail filter to identify spam. SpamAssassin uses a variety of mechanisms including header and text analysis, Bayesian filtering, DNS blocklists, and collaborative filtering databases.Mac OS X Server v10.4 includes Spam Assassin.SA scores your message and will flag it if it passes a threshold score, aim for a score below 5 for delivery, scores below 3 are what you are shooting for.
